Hunting down the books

Jay Writes -
Hi everyone,
A few people have offered (here or on Facebook or by email) to loan us us some of the books from the list. Below is a list of those we've not got yet. If you have any you'd be willing to lend Luke, could you let us know? I'm running up quite the tab with Amazon - which I must confess isn't unusual for me - but I'd like to only buy those books we can't get elsewhere.
  • Swallows and Amazons (promised to be loaned to us)
  • The Happy Prince, Oscar Wilde
  • The Singing Tree, Kate Seredy
  • The Secret Garden (promised to be loaned to us)
  • Refuge Boy, Benjamin Zephaniah
  • The Tygrine Cat, Inbali Iserles
  • Carry On Jeeves (got lots of Jeeves but not this one)
  • The Story of Tracy Beaker, Jacqueline Wilson
  • Little Women, L M Alcott (promised to be loaned to us)
  • How To Be Topp, Geoffrey Willans and Ronald Searle
  • Animal Farm (I think I had this at one point but can't find it on the shelves)
  • After The First Death, Robert Cormier
  • The London Eye Mystery, Siobhan Dowd
I'd also like to thank Luke's school library, who have promised to get him any of this list they have on their shelves. Librarians rock.

  1. I have "The Owl Service" and "A Christmas Carol". PM me your address on facebook and I will post them. I'm sure I have "Animal Farm" as well, but it hasn't turned up.

  2. We ought to have several of those - but I think they're all still in storage :( If they turn up before you locate them elsewhere I'll let you know :)

I think i have "When Hitler stole pink rabbit", but it's in a trilogy version which i think would be quite expensive to post. Perfectly happy to lend if you'd like though.

    Little Women also.

Sorry for the multiple comments, am hunting the bookshelves!

  6. I've got the same ones Nic has, plus Swallows and Amazons and Treasure Island. LMK if you'd like them (I'm Spottysocks on CN).

Swallows and Amazons is my favourite book though, so I may weep if Luke doesn't like it!

  7. We have the story of Tracy Beaker- let me know if you still need it- could drop round next week. Jill
